It all started with grandma’s chandelier

Photographs of chandeliers, HERE: hanging from the ceiling, viewing through a mirror
or lying on the floor in the installation with rugs and pillows. 2020

My grandmother had a brass chandelier with arms in her living room. On the ends of these arms there were artificial candles on which the light bulbs sat. When you walked under the chandelier, you had to pull your head in, otherwise you would feel the tip of the centre of the chandelier. Furthermore, sometimes not all the bulbs were screwed in to save electricity. The chandelier belonged to grandma like her cabbage rolls. I found these chandeliers in public spaces in Iran, Denmark, Germany and Poland.
