Revisited – From Primeval Forest to Cultural Forest

Colour photographs, 2022 + continous series, sizes according to installation

The „Jassewitzer Busch“ is a 200 to 250 years old hornbeam forest. It is one of the last of its kind in Europe. Part of the forest was designated in 2001 as the first protection forest in Mecklenburg-Vorpommern. The forest is permanently changing its shape. Environmental factors such as heavy storms, drought and the bark beetle have a massive impact on the forest. These photographs with massive forest damage were taken in 2022. I have been photographing in this forest since 2004.
